The highly-anticipated Air Jordan 9 “Citrus”, a sneaker many of you have coveted since early spring, made its way to retailers today. However, the “Citrus” colorway is not the only new Air Jordan 9  on the market currently.

With that said, Jordan Brand recently released another Air Jordan 9 in a white/turquoise/lemon-metallic silver color scheme. If you’re feeling this Air Jordan 9, don’t get your hopes up too much as this particular colorway is only available in kid sizes. It contains a primarily white leather base with lemon and turquoise accents in the form of the laces, inner lining and Jordan branding. Lastly, a  metallic silver midsole offsets the entire base. Now available at Extra Butter among other retailers.

Michael Jordan hung up his kicks and retired from the game of basketball.  Just because Mike was no longer in the League didn’t mean that Nike was finished with their game though.  The Nike Air Jordan IX came to the public and was repped heavily in the NBA by friends of Jordan including Mitch Richmond who took them to the All Star Game.

The “Powder Blue” colorway of the Air Jordan IX might be best remembered as it was a part of an advertising campaign that featured Mike reflecting on his glorious career wearing his UNC jersey sitting on a basketball.

Thankfully for the game of basketball and sneakers Mike returned to the game.  Thankfully for fans of this Air Jordan 9, the shoe will be returning…yes, you read that.  For a first for Throwback Thursday, we are pleased to announced that we saw the Air Jordan 9 in White/Black-University Blue listed as a 2010 release.  Check out more pics of a very well enjoyed pair after the break.

Marshall Faulk’s NFL rookie season started around the same time as the release of the final OG colourway of the sneakers pictured above.  His own special Air Jordan IX (9) Low clearly commemorates his time running amok from the backfield of the St. Louis Rams.

There’s a good chance he even wore pairs like these during games, given the Edward Jones Dome’s artifical turf.  They opt for a simple gold on white palette, replacing the typical ‘23′ on the heel with Faulk’s ‘28′.  Rams fans and Jordan collectors alike will be delighted to find a pair of these in US men’s size 11 at LaceLocked.
