Nike Air Diamond Fury – Ken Griffey Jr. Ken Griffey Jr. was given his first signature shoe, the Nike Air Griffey Max 1, for the 1996 season, but the year prior came one of the greatest moments in his career.

During the 1995 season, Ken Griffey Jr., Derek Jeter, and several other premier Nike athletes wore the Nike Air Diamond Fury in the big leagues, but Griffey was given a special colorway complete with his number stitched to the side and an unmistakeable “JR” logo hit on the tongue. With the recent success of the Air Griffey Max 1 and Swingman Remix, can’t say that I would complain if these made their way out of retirement.  What are your thoughts?

Revisiting the classic OG, or ‘History of Air’ colorway, which was recently adopted on an Air Mariah, Nike offers another hybrid. This time mixing the Air Max 180 with a Lunar sole and using Nike’s Torch material for the upper. Another innovation is the no-seams construction on the body of the shoe, providing a clean effect. The “True Colors” Pack, a collaborative effort between Mister Cartoon and Nike Sportswear, has been garnering an abundance of attention as of late. The pack includes a Lunar Rejuven8 Mid and a Footscape Freemotion both dressed in a simple, black/white color scheme. On a lesser scale, we have now spotted yet another Air Footscape Freemotion colorway that is now available at Atmos.

For those of you who rather sport a simple, subtle yet stylish colorway of this unique sneaker such as the aforementioned “True Colors” pair, this particular colorway may not be appealing to your eye. The predominately white colored base sits atop an all-blue sole. To coincide with the latter area, Nike applied the ever-so-popular flywire design in the same color giving this shoe some very nice color blocking. Yesterday we showed you the Cyber/White colorway of the Nike Air Presto. Here is now a look at the other two colorways that the sneaker comes in this Summer 2010 season. The low top also released in white/black and in mint/white. All three are now available from Atmos.

Back in 2007, the Nike Air Foamposite One was given to us in one of the most popular colorways to ever be placed on a basketball shoe–black and red. However, that shoe lacked one very important element in Foamposite lore–the icy outsole. For Summer of this year though, the red sole on this pair will possess the all-important attribute of translucency.

Black foam covers the entire upper of this pair, matching the midfoot and tongue. Accents on the upper maintain the striped look we’re used to seeing, throwing Fire Red in against black again to match the sole. With the Coppers and Egplants having already dropped in 2010, and a rumor that the originals Blue pair will retro this Fall, where does this pair rank against such stiff foam competition? Within the past couple of years, Nike has blessed us with specific sneakers from Ken Griffey Jr. and Bo Jackson’s signature sneaker line such as the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 and the Nike Air Trainer SC, respectively. In addition, we have now learned that Nike will re-release the Air Diamond Turf Max 96 again later this year.

If you recall, Nike already re-released this sneaker during 2007 in its original colorways, therefore, it is very odd that they would re-release this sneaker just three years afterwards. Nonetheless, the Nike Air Diamond Turf Max 96 is considered a classic from the Deion Sanders signature line. Look for this sneaker to hit retailers again this fall in both colorways. To coincide with the ongoing March Madness NCAA Tournament, Nike unleashed an Air Max Hyperize “Final Four” Pack. So, what team does this particular colorway represent?

We would say Syracuse, but we will not get to see them anymore thanks to Butler’s great play. This Nike Air Max Hyperize features a black patent leather finish similar to three of the Air Max Hyperize incorporated in the “Final Four” Pack. Orange appears throughout the base, namely on the flywire section. It also contains an orange, full-length sole that is sure to bring more comfort to the foot.

News of a Nike Air Carnivore Retro for 2010 set the comment boards on fire when the news first broke. The green, black and grey colorway surfaced early at overseas retailers, but this is the first good look we’ve had at the other colorway set to drop this Summer.

The ankle and midfoot crossover straps are white and contrast the black toe and heel. On the heel nubuck, a textured print can be seen, with the same print appearing on the black and gold midsole. The neoprene sleevs that hold your foot and ankle are bright red, adding a splash of color to this unique trainer. It’s only a matter of months before this retro hits shelves. Nike is no stranger to dropping dope releases with holiday themes, and this St. Patty’s Day drop was no different. This shoe features a perfect balance of green patent leather and white patent leather on the base. This pair was a premium quickstrike release so unfortunately they sold out out extremely fast.

Nike decided to use only two colors of patent leather on the upper. Specifically, the green patent leather toe cap/midfoot contrasts perfectly with the white patent leather heel. It is also complimented with a white patent leather swoosh, a white midsole and a green translucent outsole. Its complimentary, distinctive touches include a leprechaun hat on the heel tab and a tongue label that signifies the day of St. Patrick.
