Due to injury at the MCP joint of the small finger of the right hand, Kobe Bryant didn’t make his appearance to play in All-Star Games last weekend, as a result we missed the chance to see him rocking his All Star shoes on court. The All Star edition features in the Western Conference’s uniform colors of red and black with 3M reflective woodgrain overlay.

Another highlight of this model is the icy clear soles that prove to counter the semi-translucent blue soles on the Air Max LeBron 7 model made for the 2010 All-Star Game. The insole has Kobe’s nickname – the Black Mamba, a reminder of his three MVP awards, and his conference.

Before the All-Star game on Sunday, New Orleans point guard Chris Paul unveiled a photo of his Jordan CP3.III “2010 All-Star” in the locker room. Now, they are available at select retailers overseas such as LTD.

Obviously, this shoe owns some form of red on it seeing that he is a part of the ‘West’ All-Star team. It possesses a primarily white and red colored base with a repeated star print design throughout the side panels. There is a gradient-like attribute on the midfoot area; however, the toe box appears in a 100% red patent leather. Like the Zoom Kobe Vs and LeBron VIIs for next weekend, special woodgrain look leather is used for the midfoot and lower portion of the upper. The TS Supernatural sneakers have been labeled the lightest Adidas basketball sneakers to date. Adidas incorporated an up-to-date technology that adapts to the natural motion of your feet  dubbed Pure Motion. It simply elevates one’s traction and stability. As for the overall makeup, the shoe design is
inspired by the city of Dallas, and the pattern stands for the old West and Dallas as a former frontier town.

A new collection of Converse’s fabled Chuck Taylor All Star will hit Foot Locker mid next month as the legendary basketball sneaker gets an official revamping. The two part upper features a thick insulated collar area. In addition, a more aggressive outsole has been added.

The two-part collection is part of Converse’s recent “Always On” campaign which focuses on the All Star’s storied musical history. The shoes will hit retailers on November 15th, 2009.

Singaporean locals SBTG and DJ Inquisitive have teamed up to pay tribute to the King of Pop by producing a “Thriller” themed Converse All-Star Hi custom. Inspired by one of Michael Jackson’s biggest hits and most memorable music video, “Thriller,” the customs fit the motif of MJ’s attire in the video. Additionally, SBTG adds his latest design techniques of claw-rip detailing and a zippered tongue. Here’s what each of the collaborators had to personally say about the custom piece:

It’s interesting to see Chuck Taylors being used for this work, as it is not necessarily a popular shoe to customize (especially for SBTG), but also there isn’t much known relevancy to MJ. Nonetheless, still dope! The customs will actually be unveiled this weekend on a Thriller Night at Singapore’s Butter Factory.
